THIS IS HOW YOU DO DEPTH IN A CHILDREN’S SHOW BECAUSE BUFFY WAS FOR ADOLESCENTS IT WAS PRIMARILY AIMED AT PEOPLE IN MIDDLE THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL IT WAS DESIGNED FOR YOUNG ADULTS AND IT ADDRESSSES DEATH AND LOVE AND LOSS AND HOPE AND DESPAIR AND DEPRESSION AND RELATIONSHIPS IT FRAMES THE DIFFICULTIES AND CHALLENGES OF GROWING UP IN A SUPERNATURAL NARRATIVE BUT THAT’S JUST THE COVER ALL THOSE VILLIANS ALL THOSE PLOTS THE MEAT OF THE STORY IS FOUDN IN THESE MOMENTS IN THE CHARACTERS’ GROWTH AND INTERACTIONS WITH EACH OTHER SO DON’T TELL ME THAT AMY AND RORY JUST KISS AND MAKE UP INSTANTLY BECAUSE IT’S A KID’S SHOW DON’T TELL ME THAT YOU NEED TO DUMB THIS STUFF DOWN FOR CHILDREN YOU DON’T YOU REALLY DON’T IT’S INSULTING AND IT DOES NO ONE ANY FAVORS NOT THE CHILDREN AND CERTAINLY NOT THE WRITERS DEMAND QUALITY FROM POPULAR CULTURE FROM TV SHOWS AND BOOKS AND MAGAZINES AND MOVIES AS THE AUDIENCE WE HAVE A RIGHT TO DO SO AND IF ANYONE TRIES TO TELL YOU TO CALM DOWN ‘CAUSE IT’S JUST A TV SHOW/BOOK/MOVIE/MAGAZINE YOU TELL THEM TO FUCK RIGHT OFF

- you can pass some classes by being friends with the teacher

- if you write just random things on some homework then you may still get some point but the teacher will pull you aside because she is worried about you
